This week, EW offers an exclusive first look at the making of Divergent, based on Veronica Roth’s dystopian YA best-seller. The movie’s set in a futuristic Chicago, and stars one of Hollywood’s fastest-rising young actresses, Shailene Woodley (The Descendants), who’s also snagged the Mary Jane role in the Amazing Spider-Man franchise and the lead in the adaptation of another beloved bestseller, The Fault in Our Stars. As one of her costars, Jai Courtney, puts it, “She’s going to be such a big f - - -ing star.”

Shailene Woodley Teases Ansel Elgort About 'Divergent' to 'TFiOS' Relationship

Last week, we got the news that Ansel Elgort -who plays Tris's brother, Caleb- was cast as August Waters from The Fault in Our Stars
Entertainment Weekly talks to Shailene Woodley about how she feels about Ansel changing from a brother in Divergent to her "lover" in The Fault in Our Stars.
“I keep joking with Ansel about it,” Shailene tells EW with a laugh. “I’m like, ‘In a few months, buddy, you’re going to be my lover.’”
But all joking aside, Woodley seems thrilled with her future onscreen romantic pairing. “Ansel is so good. I’m so excited. He blew it out of the water,” she says of the time they read the parts of Gus and Hazel together. “And he’s a real sweetheart. I’m so excited to have him in my life.”

Ansel Elgort Cast as Augustus Waters From 'The Fault in Our Stars'

Ansel Elgort will now be in two major YA book-to-movie adaptations. First -as you may already know-, he's playing our Caleb Prior (Tris's brother). Secondly, he will be playing August Waters from John Green's The Fault in Our Stars.

Entertainment Weekly tells us
“Ansel is whip-smart and uber-charismatic and everything I dreamed for Augustus Waters,” John Green tells EW in an exclusive statement. “I am by nature a cautious pessimist, but I’ll just say it: Now that we have Shailene and Ansel, I am completely, unreservedly psyched about this movie.”
Director Josh Boone tells EW: “Ansel Elgort is the epitome of the boy John Green brought to life so vividly in his novel and he truly embodies the character traits we admire so much about Gus. His humor, sensitivity, honesty and confidence floored us. Watching him with Shailene was like seeing the film for the first time. Hearing then say okay to each other was incredibly moving. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have found our Gus.”
Now, we have two Divergent cast members joining The Fault in Our Stars; Ansel Elgort and the second cast member being Shailene Woodley.

Veronica Roth Talks With Teen.com About the Divergent Cast

Teen.com chats with Veronica Roth. They talk about the age difference of the actors to the characters and how amazing it is that we have Kate Winslet as Jeanine.
Shailene Woodley and Theo James
One topic of discussion during our chat was the age gap between lead actors Shailene Woodley (Tris) and Theo James (Four). In the book, these characters are 16 and 18 respectively, but the actors playing them are a bit older at 21 and 28. When asked about the age subject, Veronica assured that fans wouldn’t be disappointed, saying:
“I think that head shots look a lot older than actual people. When I’m meeting them in real life I’m like ‘Oh yeah this is not a problem.’ Seeing them all together, they definitely look younger than you think. I was most concerned about the age gap looking okay. Obviously Shailene is [six years] younger than Theo. It doesn’t really look that way because I think when you cast an actual 16 year old and actual 18 year old they look the same age, especially if the 18 year old is a boy because they don’t age. So that would actually look kind of creepy. So I’m happy with the maturity of the actors I think that was crucial to making this movie work and by casting older actors we definitely have gotten that maturity which is amazing. I think that gap looks great in real life.”
Veronica also sang Theo’s praises in another way, mentioning that he was the one actor who matched her vision of the book character the closest.
